pants for little O
Here's my first garment for little O. The pattern is Big Butt Baby Pants from Made by Rae. The fabric is Riley Blake's All Star 2, which is such perfect, perfect boy fabric in a world of not so perfect boy fabric. I had to buy a couple fat quarter sets, so you'll be seeing some other items soon.
I promised my mom that I would stop making O clothes at age 3, that way i don't have to endure the heartache that my mom endured after making me (an ungrateful recipient) so many adorable clothes. For example, the olive green knickers with plaid shirt: I "accidentally" spilled apple sauce all over them, so that I wouldn't have to wear them to school the next day. (I finally admitted this to my mom a couple years ago, some 25 years after said incident). oh the drama.

i should be in bed...

but, oh man, i've just got the crafting drive right now. i love how i sometimes get all tense and frantic while i'm sewing because i'm afraid i'm going to run out of time, as if i don't have my whole life to craft. anyways, let's just say that i had a bit of a fabric binge this week. how could i resist this gorgeous line from Anthropology Fabrics, High Society.

Also, since i'm closing in on finishing my first quilt, i did sneak ahead with my lime green and gray number. I decided to do Elizabeth Hartman's Mixtape quilt instead of the Film in the Fridge one. I think it will work better with the fabrics. Don't worry, thought, I haven't given up on the FITF one - i think my new fabrics above will work perfectly, and there should be so many great Kona solids to go with them.

can naps be too long?

i find myself in the blissful place of wondering when Little O will wake up. what a treat. ok, i cannot wait to get to these fabrics. i've had them for several months, but i insist on finishing my first quilt before i can touch these. so disciplined. when i get to them, i want to make a quilt similar to this lovely over at Film in the Fridge.
this week's excitement centers around:
*drinking caffeinated coffee...i took the plunge and it doesn't seem to be bothering O. such a treat!
*Little O getting his sleep schedule all in order
*Looking forward to O's grandpa visiting this weekend
